Well, I am on my way. I’ve landed in LAX and am waiting for the next flight across the Pacific Ocean. The last few days have been difficult dealing with the uncertainty of paperwork and trying to figure out how to pack for two years in two suitcases. And I am mourning saying goodbye to dear friends and family.
Picture over California
When I was in high school, I did a soccer camp in California. I was so scared and anxious at the time I said some hurtful things to my mom. All for a weeklong soccer camp in California. Now as I fly across the world, I find I am still anxious and afraid. But this time I know that I am not alone and that I am called to walk with and love the people of PNG.
Dr Adams and I will be flying and working at Kudjip together
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support as I start this journey. Please keep me in your prayers as I still have many long flights/layovers, customs, baggage and quarantine to contest with. Please continue to reach out and let me know how you are doing.
I’ll leave you with the psalm God has been using to encourage me today:
Psalm 139 1,5,7-9
O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
You hem me in-behind and before;
You have laid your hand upon me
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens you are there;
If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
If I settle on the far side of the sea,
Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand hold me fast
Thinking of you, Dr. Dyer!
